General store info
Where are your stores located?
Largo: 11606 Seminole Blvd, Largo, FL 33778, on the SW corner of Walsingham and Seminole Blvd in the Tropical Scooter & Motorcycle Plaza. South Tampa: 2730 W Kennedy Blvd, Tampa, FL 33609. East Tampa: 8406 US Hwy 301 N, Tampa, FL 33637.
Do you have a range?
We do not have an indoor range. We recommend the Wyoming Antelope Club at 3700 126th Ave N, Clearwater, FL 33762, where we hold our classes and take our club members.
How old do I have to be to buy a firearm or ammunition?
You must be 21 to purchase firearms and ammunition. Anyone can attend our firearm safety training classes.
What do I need to buy a firearm?
A valid Florida driver license or state ID showing Florida residency, and a form of payment. Bring your CWFL if you have one. If your ID does not show your current address, contact the store about other documents we can accept.
How do I register my firearm?
There is no firearm registration in the State of Florida.
Do you offer military or first responder discounts?
Yes. Discount programs from brands such as Beretta, CZ, Sig Sauer and more are available to active and reserve military, law enforcement, firefighters, licensed security and others. Ask in store or use the LEO & First Responder page.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, through Credova, for all credit types. Apply at checkout or ask at the counter.
Buying online and pickup
Is everything on the website available in store?
No. Most items in the full catalog ship from one of several distributors. When an item is in a store, the product page says which one. Not everything in store is online, especially ammunition, so call the store for inventory questions.
What happens after I buy a firearm or receiver online?
Wait for us to contact you. When it arrives you complete the background check at the counter. You can pick it up after three business days from payment if the check is approved and the store is open. CWFL holders can typically take it the same day.
When will my online order arrive?
Most orders ship from a distributor warehouse or store inventory within 3 to 10 business days by UPS, FedEx or USPS. Tracking is provided for UPS and FedEx shipments. We ship to the lower 48 states only.
How do I know if my background check will be approved?
We cannot predict a result. FDLE returns approved, non-approved, decision pending or conditional non-approval. A pending decision is not a denial and often clears within the waiting period.
NFA, suppressors and other options
Can I buy suppressors from Mad Dog Armory?
Yes. We stock suppressors and the Silencer Shop kiosk in store makes the tax stamp process simple: fingerprints and photo at the kiosk, then your ATF Form 4 is filed electronically.
Can I buy full-auto firearms?
Transferable machine guns are legal in Florida for qualified buyers through the NFA process. Ask us about availability and the Form 4 process.
Do you offer other self-defense options?
Yes. Not everyone is comfortable with a firearm, and we carry non-lethal options that are easy to use and legal to carry concealed in Florida, including pepper spray and stun devices.
Do you have firearms for women?
Guns are not gender specific. If you are a first-time owner we always recommend handling several models in person to see what fits. Our ladies-only beginner class is a great place to start.
